Utah week 2

It's currently 7 am, been up since 630, and have absolutely no reason why. The baby slept through the night last night, which is the first time since she got a cold, and I'm awake. Wide a-freakin-wake. So I thought I'd update my blog. I had to check back on my Utah week 1 post to see where I left off because so much has happened.
No update on the family pics yet.. I really hope I get to see those soon.
Well, week two's been pretty great! Christmas eve we spent with my family eating yummy food, played a Christmas movie trivia game that Jason White came up with, watched the nativity, had the kids open one present (the one they exchange between each other), and then exchanged white elephant gifts between each other. It was a pretty great WE exchange, as it is every year.
Addyson, Aspen, and Andrew all had to take a turn feeding and/or holding Lynlee. Her big cousins just love her!

One of Kristin's boys had Lynlee's name and she got socks and a Baby Einstein's singing octopus which she just loves.

Mom got an Angry Birds throw blanket as her WE gift

Dad got a white trash bird house. Lynlee liked it haha

I got "Cleaner Than Sh**" and "OCD" hand sanitizer

Kristin got a foot car wash for your shower. Jaron got rocks with dogs on them.

Ken got a cat clock that meows on the hour and has 12 different meows. Markham stole it (much to my dismay)

Julie got the Awkward Family Photos 365 day Calendar. Ken re-picked and got a Hyde Family Calendar.

Brian got "Maybe You Touched Your Genitals" hand sanitizer

Ryan got a beaver beanie and dr pepper flavored jelly bellys

I re-picked the very last present and this is what it was. Yep.

We then spent Christmas day with Markham's family. Christmas morning we opened stockings. We decided to wait on the rest of the presents until everyone else came over after church. But then Makham said "hey Brittany, what's in the tree?" and I looked in the Christmas tree and there was a small present. I grabbed it and opened it and it was a beautiful diamond necklace! What a sweet sweet husband I have :)
Then I went to my moms ward with Lynlee and Markham went to his moms ward so we could both see our moms sing. Then we came back and helped prepare Christmas dinner, which was absolutely delicious! And then every single kid got to dress up and take part in reenacting the nativity while the adults narrated. Now, I managed to get pics with my phone for my family's party but for some reason didn't get any from Markham's party... Sorry Hyde family!
I keep hearing Lynlee stirring in her pack n play and I keep thinking she's going to wake up.. But I think we're safe.
This is the beautiful necklace Markham gave me!

This is the moon and the big bright star next to it on Christmas night. Pretty huh?

So after the Nativity I went to my family's house for a little over an hour so I could give my mom and dad their gifts and they could give us ours. We got a new baby monitor, which I am totally excited for! Ours is a piece of junk that goes staticky all the time.

Another year, another successful Christmas!

Other eventful things that happened this week..
I went to dinner with Kylie O'Keefe, Melissa Griggs, and Kim Gunnerson. They're my old group of friends, it was like a mini high school reunion. We had SO much fun and laughed a Lot! Mostly about how dumb we were in high school lol.
We took Lynlee swimming for the first time! I already posted about that, though.
I ate Cafe Rio! That's totally worth posting about :)
We nerded it up with Nate Lily and Crane Napier (I think that's how you spell his last name? Sorry, Crane) and played Puerto Rico! It's a super need game like Carcassone or Settlers. I came in third, then second, and then I finally won the third time we played! I was so excited. I'm the only girl that plays with them so it was pretty fun to show up the boys :)

******************************
Okay so I started this blog post two days ago on my iPhone and couldn't access a real computer to post my pictures so I didn't finish it.
The next night after Lynlee slept through the night was awful. She wouldn't go down until almost midnight and then she was waking up every 15 minutes just restless and sad. So I finally picked her up, layed down on the bed in that room and slept with her in my arm. Which, I don't know if any of you parents out there have ever tried that, but you don't get any sleep. Your baby might drift off in to lala land, but as soon as you get comfortable, your arm falls asleep, and then her head gets sweaty, and then your back hurts from laying in the same position too long. So I probably got a grand total of maybe three (non-consecutive) hours that night. And the following day (yesterday) was New Years Eve.

Last night was pretty much a blast. I stocked up on Red Bull and we headed over to the Barber's where the Whites, Hinckleys, Blake and his girlfriend Jessica, and Scott Macdonald joined us in a celebration of the New Year dinner club style. We did Just Dance on Kinect, played two rounds of Shout About Movies, and started another game before realizing it was almost midnight.
This is Luke and Michelle's giant Christmas tree. After the crazy wind storms in Utah they drove around and found this tree on the ground and took it. 22 ft. high.

Everyone! (except Michelle because she's taking the picture)

The girls came in to pop the bubbly while the boys stayed out and shot each other with fireworks

This is Michelle's cabinet covered in Martinelli's after Scott decided to shake the bottle.

We then proceeded to the driveway where the boys lit off fireworks and the girls played with sparklers. Michelle and I did shoot off some Roman Candles though. That was fun. Jason shot a lot of last night on iPhone 4s and edited the video on his phone and then posted it so here it is.
As you can see toward the end of the video, Scott decided to shoot big fireworks, intended for the sky, at Blake and Scott H. Then after that you can see Scott H get hit twice by a Roman Candle. Both shots bounce off of him. It looks pretty sweet. Then the very last shot is when Scott decided (it always starts with "when Scott decided"... haha) to shake up the Martinelli's bottle and take his thumb off of it (like real champagne) and it went all over Michelle's kitchen. If you look close you can see the splashes on her cabinet. All in all it was a pretty awesome night and we had a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone that was there and contributed!
We were lucky and somehow got my parents to watch Lynlee so we didn't have to try and put her down in the middle of our party, but my mom said she did really well, stayed up til midnight, and went to bed without even crying! She slept through the night again last night, and when my Red Bull buzz died off I finally got some much much needed sleep.
Our midnight sparkler kiss!

Today is a little less exciting but I have to really enjoy the next two days because Tuesday my wisdom teeth come out :(

Lynner the little Swimmer

Today was the first time ever that Lynlee has gone swimming. I was a little nervous, but she loves the bath so I just assumed she would do okay. And, she LOVED it! We had so much fun. Markham's mom has a pass to the South Davis Rec Center and they have an indoor aquatic center so we took here there. It was pretty crowded, but we still had a good time.
Lynlee loved it!

She liked to lick the water off her face

Happy girl with grammy and daddy!

Utah week 1

Our first week in Utah has been a success! I got my hair done, we went to two ugly sweater/white elephant parties in one day, went to the hot pots (wish I had pics but it was pitch black), finished Christmas shopping, and hung out with friends! We also got Carter family pics taken (hope I can post those soon), went to Heritage Park for the Christmas festivities and loved it! And went to Willard Bay to see the lights. Here's some of the highlights:

Overall it's been a pretty great 1/4th of our vacation :) I can't wait for the christmas eve party with my family and Christmas morning with markhams family. It's going to be great! I've got a few videos I want to post too but I'll have to do that a bit later. That's all for now!
